He entered it. It means that the Son of God truly became one of us. Jesus is fully God and fully human. He is God-with-us.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This matters because God did not save us from a distance. He moved toward us in love. He entered our weakness, pain, hunger, grief, temptation, friendship, work, and suffering. He took on real human life.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">In Jesus, God has a face, a voice, hands, tears, and scars.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The incarnation shows us the heart of God. God is not cold, far away, or uninterested. He comes close. He steps into our story. He meets us where we are so He can bring us home.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Because Jesus is fully God, He reveals God perfectly. Because Jesus is fully human, He understands us truly. He is able to bring God to us and bring us to God.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Today, remember that God has come near in Jesus.
