They tried to short-circuit God’s plan. They offered a way to gain power without suffering, provision without dependence, and the Kingdom without the cross.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">At the heart of each temptation was a question: Will Jesus trust the Father?<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">That is often the question underneath our temptations too. Will we trust God’s timing, or take control? Will we trust God’s Word, or follow our cravings? Will we trust the Father’s love, or try to prove ourselves?<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Like Adam and Eve, we are often tempted by what looks good for feeding our appetites, pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom apart from God.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">But Jesus succeeds where humanity failed. He remains faithful. He chooses trust over self-sufficiency, obedience over shortcuts, and the Father’s will over the enemy’s lies.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Today, remember that Jesus understands your struggle. He is not distant from your weakness.
