He carries what we could not carry and pays what we could not pay.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Forgiveness is not cheap. God does not simply pretend sin does not matter. Sin matters deeply because it destroys relationship, wounds people, and separates us from God.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">But at the cross, Jesus deals with sin through sacrificial love. The curse is lifted. The accusation against us is nailed to the cross. The nails, the suffering, the rejection, and the pain all show how far God was willing to go to bring us home.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This truth helps us stop trying to save ourselves. We do not earn forgiveness.
