Is He kind? Is He holy? Is He merciful? Is He distant? Is He angry? Is He loving?<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">When we look at Jesus, we see the answer.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Jesus is the image of the invisible God. He is not one picture of God among many. He is the full revelation of God.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">In Jesus, we see the Father’s character: truth, grace, holiness, mercy, justice, compassion, patience, and love. Jesus welcomes sinners, heals the broken, challenges hypocrisy, blesses children, forgives enemies, and lays down His life.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This means we do not have to guess what God is like. We look at Jesus.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">To know Jesus is to know the Father. When Jesus speaks, we hear the Father’s heart. When Jesus acts, we see the Father’s love. When Jesus suffers for us, we see how far God will go to rescue His people.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This also means that any picture of God that does not look like Jesus needs to be questioned. Jesus shows us God’s glory in human form.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Today, read the life of Jesus in the Gospels slowly.
