But we need the Spirit to help us receive it deeply. Sometimes Scripture exposes something we need to repent of. Sometimes it gives wisdom for a decision. Sometimes it reminds us who God is when we are afraid or confused.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">That is the Spirit at work, making the words of Jesus alive in us.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This does not mean we stop studying carefully. It means we read Scripture with dependence.
