Others may reflect brokenness through absence, harshness, control, distance, or failure.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Because of this, the word “Father” can bring comfort for some people and pain for others. Jesus meets us honestly in that place.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We must gently separate human limitation from divine perfection. God the Father is not simply a bigger version of our earthly fathers. He is the perfect Father, and Jesus shows us exactly what He is like.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Jesus says, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” That means we learn to trust the Father by looking at the Son.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">In Jesus, we see that the Father is compassionate, attentive, faithful, and safe. We see a Father who welcomes sinners, touches the broken, forgives the guilty, restores the ashamed, and moves toward the wounded.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">If your picture of fatherhood has been damaged, Jesus does not shame you. He patiently reveals the true Father to you.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Today, bring your experiences, questions, and resistance honestly to God.
