As Apostle, Jesus loves the Father’s mission. As Prophet, He loves truth. As Evangelist, He loves the lost and welcomes people into good news. As Shepherd, He loves and cares for people. As Teacher, He loves wisdom that leads to life.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">As we walk with Jesus, we begin to love what He loves. This does not happen all at once. Sometimes our hearts are pulled toward comfort, attention, control, success, or selfishness. But the Spirit keeps forming us.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Loving what Jesus loves changes our choices. We begin to care more about people than winning. We care more about faithfulness than popularity. We care more about God’s kingdom than our own plans.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This is why discipleship is not just behaviour management.
