He speaks directly about food, drink, clothing, and tomorrow. We may hoard resources, withhold generosity, or believe we must control everything to be safe.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Accumulation can replace generosity. Control can replace dependence. Fear can replace faith.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Jesus invites us into a different way. He says to seek first God’s Kingdom and trust the Father who knows what we need.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Daily bread frees us from fear. It teaches us to live lightly and generously. If the Father is our provider, we do not need to build our security apart from Him.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This does not mean being careless. It means holding what we have with open hands.
