Sin does not stay small. Creation is still God’s world, but it is no longer whole. The disorder around us points to the deeper disorder of sin.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This helps explain why life can be both beautiful and painful. We see goodness because God created the world good. We see brokenness because sin has damaged what God made.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Christians do not need to pretend the world is fine. The Bible gives us permission to grieve honestly. Death is an enemy. Sin is destructive. Injustice matters. Brokenness is real.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">But the Bible also teaches us not to give up hope. The world is broken, but it is not abandoned. God’s answer to the fall is not escape from creation, but redemption and restoration.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Jesus enters the groaning world.
