It means seeing earth through the truth of God’s reign. We set our minds on things above so we can serve faithfully here below.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Disciples live anchored in heaven so they can faithfully serve on earth.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This matters because earthly circumstances can easily shape our minds: fear, pressure, disappointment, success, conflict, or distraction. But Paul tells us to set our minds on things above. We learn to think from the reality of God’s Kingdom.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Heaven’s reality gives us courage. God reigns. Heaven’s reality gives us hope. God will make all things new. Heaven’s reality gives us purpose. We are called to live as signs of His coming Kingdom.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">One day, heaven and earth will be fully united. Revelation 21 says God will make all things new and dwell with His people forever. Until then, we pray, worship, forgive, heal, love, and serve as previews of that future.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This week, begin each day by reminding yourself: God reigns.
