This prayer is meant to move from our lips into our habits, relationships, desires, decisions, and mission.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Through this prayer, God weeds out sin in our hearts and habits. He grows attentiveness to the Father. He teaches obedience through love. He leads us daily by the Holy Spirit.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We come to know God with our minds, through our hearts, and in our lived practices.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This week, commit to praying the Lord’s Prayer slowly each day. Pause at each line and ask, “How is Jesus inviting me to live this?”<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">When you pray “Our Father,” receive your identity as God’s child. When you pray “Your Kingdom come,” seek His reign in your life. When you pray for daily bread, practise trust. When you pray for forgiveness, receive mercy and give mercy. When you pray for deliverance, resist evil with God’s help.<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 16pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This journey is not about praying better so we can impress God.
